Data Collection

When you visit this website, data is processed only to the following extent: (1) technical access data (e.g. IP address, time, page requested) by our hosting provider Vercel to deliver and secure the website; (2) your choice in the cookie banner is stored in your browser (strictly necessary). Google Analytics for audience measurement only runs if you have consented to the "Statistics" category; IP addresses are anonymised. The provider is Google Ireland Ltd.; Google may transfer data to the USA, relying on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The Meta Pixel ("Marketing" category) is described separately below.

Contact form

The data you enter (name, email address or phone number, message) is sent to us directly by email and used to process your enquiry; if a series of email tips is still running for your email address (see below), we end it and delete the data stored for it. If you have allowed "Marketing", we also send your email address or phone number to Meta as a hash (see "Meta Pixel and Conversions API").

Website check and IT security check

For the website check our server fetches the address you enter once and analyses it; for the load time measurement the address may also be sent to Google PageSpeed Insights. Your answers in the IT security check are evaluated in your browser. Only if you request the report by email do we process your email address and, optionally, your name and company to send you the report; a copy of the request is sent to us. With your separate consent we also use the address for the email tips (see below); with consent to "Marketing" it is sent to Meta as a hash. We only get in touch about it if you have explicitly ticked the box.

Origin of enquiries (attribution)

On your first page view the site remembers for the duration of your visit where you came from: the first page you opened, the referring website (domain only) and, if the link contained them (e.g. from an ad), UTM parameters (source, medium, campaign, ad content, search term) and a click ID from Meta or Google. This is stored in your browser (session storage, deleted when you close the tab) only if you have consented to "Statistics" or "Marketing". When you submit a form, this information is sent to us with your enquiry so we can see how you found us; the click ID itself does not appear in the email; with consent to "Marketing" we pass the Meta click ID on to Meta. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in assessing how well our advertising works (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Purpose of Processing

Processing serves to provide and secure the website, to compile statistics and measure the success of our advertising (both only with your consent), to handle your enquiries and, if you wish, to send you tips on your check result. The legal basis for Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). You can change or withdraw your consent to "Statistics" and "Marketing" at any time with future effect via "Cookie settings" in the footer of every page.

Meta Pixel and Conversions API

Only if you have consented to the "Marketing" category in the cookie banner do we use the Meta Pixel of Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. It stores cookies in your browser (_fbp, and _fbc after a click on a Meta ad) and tells Meta which pages you view, that you submitted a form ("Lead" event) or clicked our phone number or email address ("Contact" event), together with technical data such as your IP address and browser identifier. In addition, our server reports a submitted form directly to Meta (Conversions API): with your email address or phone number as a hash (SHA-256, not in plain text), IP address, browser identifier, page address, the values of the Meta cookies or the click ID from the ad link (fbclid) and an event ID so that Meta counts the browser and server reports only once. Meta may match this data with your Facebook or Instagram account. The purpose is to measure which ads lead to enquiries and to show our ads to people for whom our services are relevant. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). For collecting the data and transmitting it to Meta, Lindner Tech and Meta are joint controllers under Art. 26 GDPR, based on Meta's Controller Addendum. Meta alone is responsible for any further processing. Meta may transfer data to the USA, relying on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; details are in Meta's Privacy Policy. You can withdraw your consent at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer; after that we no longer send any data to Meta.

Email tips after the free checks

If you tick the separate box for email tips when requesting the report from the website check or IT security check, the email with your report contains a confirmation link (double opt-in). Only once you confirm through it do you receive two further emails: a matching real-world example after about two days and an offer of a free consultation after about five days. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). For this we store your email address, the name used to greet you (if given), the language, the check you used and the topic of your result, and as proof of your consent the times of the request and the confirmation, the version of the consent text and, for each, a hash of your IP address created with a secret key (not the IP address itself). The data is stored with Upstash, Inc. as our processor in a database in the EU region Frankfurt. Upstash is based in the USA; access from there is safeguarded by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses in the data processing agreement. The emails are sent from our own mailbox. Every email contains an unsubscribe link you can use to withdraw your consent at any time. If you write to us through the contact form with the same email address, we also end the series. The data is deleted after the last email or when you unsubscribe, at the latest 10 days after your confirmation; if you do not confirm, after 48 hours. Without the tick you only receive the report you requested.

Measuring results: what becomes of an enquiry

So that we can judge which advertising and which channels lead to real conversations, we create a short record for every enquiry sent through a form on this website (contact form, website check, IT security check): the type of form, the selected topic, the language, the time, an ID for the enquiry and where the visit came from (UTM details and the first page visited, see above). If a first consultation is then arranged, takes place or leads to an assignment, we note this in the record. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in assessing how well our advertising works (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Only if you have allowed "Marketing" do we additionally store your email address or phone number as a hash (SHA-256, not in plain text) and the values of the Meta cookies (_fbp, _fbc) or the Meta click ID, and report these steps to Meta as events via the Conversions API ("Schedule", "ShowUp", "Won", without any order value). The legal basis for this is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); the section "Meta Pixel and Conversions API" applies to the joint controllership with Meta. The record is stored with Upstash, Inc. as our processor in a database in the EU region Frankfurt (any access from the USA is safeguarded by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses) and is deleted automatically after 90 days. It does not contain your name or the content of your message.

Book Purchase (Lemon Squeezy)

Simply visiting our book subpage does not load any external payment script. Only when you actively click the purchase button do we load and open the checkout of our distribution partner Lemon Squeezy, LLC (USA, a Stripe company) acting as Merchant of Record to handle payment processing, VAT calculation, invoicing and digital file delivery. Lemon Squeezy processes your order, payment and technical connection data as an independent controller under Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract at your request); details are available in Lemon Squeezy’s Privacy Policy.

Social Media: Facebook and Instagram

We run a Facebook page and an Instagram profile. When you visit or interact with them, for example by liking, commenting or sending messages, Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. processes your data. For Page Insights (aggregated statistics on how our pages are used), Lindner Tech and Meta are joint controllers under Art. 26 GDPR, based on the Page Insights Controller Addendum, in which Meta takes primary responsibility, so you can also exercise your rights directly with Meta. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a presence on social networks (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Meta may transfer data to the USA, relying on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; details are in Meta's Privacy Policy.

Lead forms (instant forms) on Facebook and Instagram

Some of our ads on Facebook and Instagram contain an instant form (lead form). If you fill one in, Meta collects the details you enter on our behalf, such as name, email address, phone number, company and your answers to questions like the service you are interested in or your budget range, and passes them on to Lindner Tech. We use this data solely to answer your inquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures at your request). We delete the data as soon as it is no longer needed to handle your inquiry, unless statutory retention obligations apply. How Meta itself processes data is explained in Meta's Privacy Policy.
